Each photographer is different and we know you probably have a lot of questions about how things work at Todd Myra Photography. Here are some answers to lots of questions. If you have others, feel free to contact us.

Where will my photo session be?

Do you like outdoor photos? Great! If so, there are many wonderful parks and areas with beautiful nature that make great settings for photos. Shooting an urban/downtown look is really fun too!

If you are looking for an indoor photo session, we have a studio that is centrally located in St. Cloud.

Or perhaps you'd like to have us come to your house or another location. That works great as well!
What should I wear?

One thing you might want to consider first is where you will be displaying your photos. Think about the room and what colors are going to go well or fit with the décor.

Solid colors are a good route to go and then bring in some accessories- necklace, scarves, or hats. Plaid shirts look great for guys, but you don't want too many people in one grouping with plaid, stripes, or a design. Couples should wear different colors- Dad could wear a plaid shirt and Mom could be in a solid color that goes with his shirt. What not to wear? In general we would advise you to stay away from plain white shirts as well as shirts with words and graphics.

Google and Pinterest can also be helpful for ideas and inspiration. Just type in "Outfit ideas for..." and then whatever type of shoot you are doing.

Please keep an eye on the predicted temperature if you are doing an outdoor photo shoot. Although most adults can tough out the unexpected fluctuating Minnesota temperatures, it is very hard for kids to smile if they are too hot or too cold. Please make sure your children are dressed for the weather. It can also be very helpful to bring extra clothes for little ones that might spit up on their outfit or fall down in the dirt or snow.
What if I don’t feel photogenic or know what to do?

You will do just fine- just be yourself! Once you arrive, you don't need to worry about a thing! We will tell you how to stand, how to pose, where to put your hands, etc. We will work with your kids and get everyone feeling comfortable. Just come, relax, and have fun!
When is the best time for a photo shoot?

The best lighting for an outdoor photo shoot is typically in the evening a few hours before sunset. If you have children, of course we want to keep in mind that we want to capture their best moments when they are not too tired or hungry.
What happens if there is rain in the forecast?

We have learned that we don't have to be worried about rain in the forecast. The weatherman is often wrong. We will be watching the radar during the day and be in touch with you to reschedule if necessary.
When will I get to see my photos?

Once your session is complete, we schedule an in-person viewing and ordering session with you at our studio in St. Cloud. This will take place within 4 weeks for portrait sessions and 6 weeks for weddings. We will help you select prints and sizes that will work well in your home. Please bring all the decision makers with you to this appointment so you can make decisions about what to purchase. Orders for prints take about 1-2 weeks and albums take about 2 weeks once you have approved your album proof. Please feel free to ask us about options for a quicker turn-around time.
Do you travel?

Yes! We have done photo shoots in Hawaii, Sweden, Dubai and even Iowa :).
