Tech high school open house September 18, 2019 Tech High School has a new building and to show it off to the public they hosted an open house! It was a fun event starting off with the Tech Trek and student representatives entering the stadium. This was followed by the entrance of the Tech Torch and welcome by Superintendent Willie Jett. We heard speeches by the Chairman of the Board of Education, Jeff Pollreis, Minnesota Commissioner of Education- Mary Cathryn Ricker and a message from the office of Senator Amy Klobuchar presented by Rep. Dan Wolgamott. More speeches were presented by Student Council President- Katie Poetz, Mayor Dave Kleis, Cuningham Group Architect John Pfluger and Principal Charlie Eisenreich. A Color Guard presented the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance and the choir sang a beautiful song. Following the ribbon cutting there were self guided tours of the school. The new school is impressive with many modern touches! The "learning studios" (what they call classrooms) are filled with monitors and white boards both of which enhance learning. When students need to work on a group projects instead of sitting in the hallways, like at traditional schools, they can go to special "small group," and "medium group" rooms. Everything is modern, new and very exciting! Congratulations on your awesome new building!
